“The artist produces for the liberation of his soul. It is his nature to create as it is the nature of water to run down the hill”
W. Somerset Maugham.
Jasons definitive unique and free flowing style is arguably a reflection of the mans character and his easily recognisable work is certainly identifiable in any gallery standing out wherever it is. It is emotive and expressive, robust and textured yet blended and balanced.
His work comes from deep within but on a very conscious level. He is very aware of what drives him. This has no doubt influenced his fast flowing, sometimes - frenzied style. He works quickly with a variety of fast drying medium and a menagerie of brushes and implements (many he makes himself) enabling an ability to capture emotion and evoke & enhance his very deliberate results.
The textured and bold lighted colours he uses are often trimmed with black accents for a balanced and pleasing to the eye feel loading the viewer with power and emotion. The world is enriched with his artistic view, not intending to influence with deep messages but to create a visual impact and simply keeping his work pure.
"Paintings are like clouds, everyone can see something different or personal in it. The key for me is capturing the feeling. The feeling of looking at the thing and knowing it simply feels right. In the end my story is superfluous.”
Jason is driven to take art to the world. To share his engaging spirit and experiences of creation through interactive workshops and collaborations with other artists. For Jason the material outcome is over ridden by the purity of the process of engagement and the triggering of the catalyst that drives the explosiveness and excitement of creating.
Jason has recently collaborated with Californian surfer and artist Darryl Dugas to produce several works not yet displayed on this sight. Due to the success of their partnership further collaboration is anticipated.

JR has recently returned to his family home on the Tweed Coast in far northern New South Wales and has decided to take his passion to a new level. To literally move from his shed to a studio. Jason is currently designing an interactive studio space (anticipated completion mid 2008) from which he will create and entertain with all the fury, passion and madness he so desires.
Your comments and critiques about Jason’s work or this website are welcomed. Please use the “Contacts” page to pass them on.
